A Fun Side Dish and Family Activity: Fruit Skewers

Published by zoe1416 at 4:15 pm under Recipes Edit This

When it comes to eating food that’s actually good for them, most kids shy away. Instead of enjoying fruit, they love fruit-flavored roll-ups or candy. Add fruit into their diet by getting your kids into the kitchen.

Make fruit skewers with your kids. They are easy to make and a fun activity to do with your kids. Feel free to use any of your kids’ favorite fruits or fruit that you want them to eat. The sky is your limit. Serve the skewers as a side dish at dinner or as a dessert. Keep the fridge stocked with them, and maybe your kids might even pick them as an afternoon snack.

Easy Fruit Skewers

Ingredients:

Tooth picks
1/2 cup of green or red grapes
1/2 cup of green or red apples, cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 cup of cut cantaloupes
1/2 cup of strawberries

Directions:

Place the different types of fruit in its own bowl. Let the kids choose the fruit they want on their skewers. Thread the fruit on the toothpicks. Arrange on a platter and enjoy.
