Welcome to Cooking With Kids!
I’d like to take a moment and introduce you to “Cooking With Kids.” I know there are other blogs out there that deal with this topic, but I think I’m a different type of cook. I’m what they call a “creative chef.” Basically, I create recipes out of thin air by combining ingredients that I think go together. I love to cook and experiment with new recipes that I create and modifying existing recipes to fit my tastes.
This blog will showcase some of my favorite and family-tested recipes. Some of them will be easier to make than others. I won’t stray from the harder recipes, but all of these recipes are fun to do with your kids and even your spouse. I’ll always mention ways that you can get your kids involved during the cooking process. In my own experience, I’ve found that even the pickiest eaters are more willing to try new foods when they get to cook it themselves.
I loved cooking with my family as a child. I learned how to cook at an early age. I was in elementary school when my grandmother helped me cook Creole Gumbo. She supervised while I chopped, diced, and even got to stir the gumbo.
I’ll be updating this blog regularly. I’ll try to add new recipes daily, but at minimum, I’ll update three times a week.
Happy Cooking!
